Spotted: Black Honey

I don't usually wear a lot of make up - usually just concealer, eye shadow, liner and mascara. I stay away from my face and RARELY touch my lips. On the rare occasion I do put on lipstick, it's a one-and-done thing and when it wears off, it doesn't make a return for weeks or months.

All that changed this week. For I discovered possibly the greatest lipstick ever.
Clinique's Black Honey is possibly the greatest almost lipstick I've ever seen. It's this purple black stain that goes on to become the prettiest, sheerest color - on ANYONE. I love that it's not as heavy as a lipstick and doesn't require me to put on lip liner, and it doesn't suffer the sticky fate of lip gloss (which I hate.)

Apparently this stuff has been around forever and is Clinique's most popular color, and I understand why. So if you haven't tried it yet, go out and get you some.

P.S. I also started wearing Clinique's Almost Makeup foundation to help even out my recently uneven skin tone. These are the joys you have to look forward to as you start getting older - le sigh.

Spotted on The Catorialist

Giorgio Armeowni

Is this not the most handsome cat you've ever seen (apart from my Max, of course.) Photo, and ridiculously cute post, courtesy of The Catorialist. Go now!

Decisions Decisions

I'm a little stuck and I need your help, dear readers. I'm torn between two pairs of shoes for the spring weddings I'm going to in Texas. This is the dress I'm wearing (love, love, love Shabby Apple dresses!)

Both shoes are from Calvin Klein.

So tell me, which do you like best for the dress? Please let me know your thoughts!

A little botox never hurt anything

It's been a while since I've posted anything meaningful, which means it's been a while since I posted (what? everything I post is meaningful, natch) and I have heard from one particular person that she checks my blog every day to see the latest and poof, nothing. I know the look of disappointment well, and I can't stand disappointing people.

It's not necessarily bad that I haven't had much to report on - life is chugging along beautifully, and, with the exception of a bout of the flu a few weeks ago, not much has happened (this past weekend the exception, and I'll post about that too.)

So I've decided to give this blog a little botox** to make the lines disappear. I'm going to broaden the focus of my blog and start writing more about the fashion I've lately become obsessed with. I will be showing you outfits I've got my eye on, and I'd love to get your thoughts about them - whether they're as kick ass as I think they are.

Don't worry, I'll still post the personal side of my life too, but I don't want to make you all weeks in the very likely chance my life gets boring for a few spells.

** I said a little. I have no intention of making this blog look like her.

Oscar Dress Fever

Did y'all watch the Academy Awards last night? Hooray Sandra Bullock! Hooray Jeff Bridges! Hooray Katherine Bigelow!
It's exciting that the first woman won for Best Director and her tiny little film kicked her ex husband's ass, blah blah blah, but let's talk about what really counts - the best outfits.

Sandra channeled Oscar through Marchesa - just radiant!
Demi looked ravishing in Versace, but seriously, when does she NOT look amazing?
I have always loved Kate, mostly because I think our bodies are built the same. So imagine how giddy I got when I imagined how great I could look in this YSL.
Meryl, you are the definition of glamour and you shined in Chris March. Bravo!
DK in Chanel looks ravishing next to my favorite director, Quentin.

I won't dribble my page with stupid outfits, but Zoe Saldana, that train wreck of a dress was Tuh-ragic. And was Amanda Seifreid getting married during the Oscars last night, or am I the only one who thought she wore a wedding dress?

How sad is it that I don't know any of the "young Hollywood" crowd (minus Miley Cyrus - I like her) and all my favorite stars are getting grey and old? Oh man, that's a scary thought.

So what were your favorites?
