#7 Texas Tech faces its biggest challenge this week - #1 Texas. This rivalry has always been good, and this game promises to be one of the best. I'm not one for predictions, but I do think Tech stands a great chance since Texas always has a hard time playing in Lubbock.
So WRECK 'EM TECH!!!!

Fathers and Daughters
I love this picture of Barack Obama and his daughter Sasha, taken at the Iowa State Fair in August. As the daughter of an amazing father who spent my entire life making funny faces like this, I am sure Obama's daughter will one day appreciate this photo of her dad being silly.

Thank You Thank You Thank You THANK YOU!
Thank you to I *Heart* You for giving me such great news on a dreary morning! If you aren't tapped into the knowledge of a fellow Texan, then I suggest you check out her blog, stat.
So what has me all giddy this morning? Reading this. As a closet fan of the worst/best show on TV I have endured the ridicule of my boyfriend enough to catch up on the season in private - and through . But news about Whitney's spin-off couldn't make me happier. Plus I'm so much more an East Coast girl at heart and hate everything about LA. So here's to Whitney making it in the big city.

Without Further Ado
It only took 17 weeks, 2 days, 20 hours, 36 minutes and 40 seconds to arrive, but who's counting, right?! The complete couch - the whole enchilada - is now gracing our living room with its presence. You can see that the cats really enjoy having somewhere to rest their overworked selves and I can't blame them. This couch is so amazing and comfortable, and was well worth the wait!

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want
Cue Pat and Vanna
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do da.
That's me humming the Wheel of Fortune tune right now because TONIGHT is Stephen's Wheel debut. His show airs here in Boston at 7 p.m. on the CW (cable channel 14). If you're interested in watching him kick some wheel butt, check your local listings for time and station.
We're hosting a Wheel watching party for our closest friends tonight and I'll post pictures from it later this week because I need to show everyone the couch I've been blogging about for months.

Posting for the Man Now
My blogging hobby just became official: I did my first post for my company's blog RaceTalk. I'd love for you all to check it out and let me know your thoughts - I think the post is useful to everyone outside of my professional network as well since you all have multiple social networks.
Thanks and be on the lookout for more from me on the RaceTalk blog.

Surrounded by Blessings
Every once in a while you need to take a step back and look at the blessings surrounding your life. Last week my blog pal Martha was involved in a car accident and walked away relatively unharmed. When you see the photos from her accident you have to thank God because you know someone greater was taking care of her.
Another recent example? My former colleague and friend, and her husband, just found out they're going to be parents soon. It warms my heart to know that someone who is so giving and compassionate is about to embark on the greatest journey of her life. Good luck, Jessica, you and John are going to be great parents!
When you look at blessings that are handed out to the people you love, it makes you more aware of the blessings you have in life and that is definitely worth celebrating.

I Think I Can
I like challenges. I've been told I'm competitive about everything. I don't like to fail. I guess that's why I'm scared about the challenges I'm facing in my career. The last thing I want to do is fail in front of my supervisors. So now I need to face the fear. Rise to the challenge. And keep thinking that I can.
